Different factors affect the risk of infectious disease, and if any condition is not met, then infection does not occur. These factors are 1) the susceptibility to the germ, 2) the right mode of transmission, 3) having enough germs present in the water to be a threat and 4) low immune function.
For float tanks, the pool and spa recreational water illness (RWI) surveillance summaries from the CDC are the best source of disease information on which germs satisfy the first two conditions.
